        I agree, mostly. Training in science is good - BUT, I’ve seen some pretty bright doctors, engineers, etc., arrive at some incredibly eye-rolling, head-shaking,stupid conclusions re matters of public policy. I believe It would be preferable to instill in kids the discipline of

        ... basing decisions on discernible facts, and not somebody’s generally accepted conclusion. Too often we apply our education as if it were a trade, rather than a discipline of thought. Still, presumably a scientist would at least have access to pertinent data.
