This is my question also. We rely on the kindness of strangers to pay our medical bills and our children’s lunch debts. Why? I’m working toward a world where the terms “medical bankruptcy” and “lunch debt” no longer exist.https://twitter.com/meganranney/status/1211041715517378563 …
This is a simplistic question. Ultimately we would have to charge zero for our work to make sure everyone could afford the care they need: some people can’t afford even a $70 office visit for a routine sick visit, for example. So what’s the bottom number we should charge?

If doctors (who are among the top income earners in America) are going to insist on charging, for their services, amounts of money that people cannot possibly afford to pay, they shouldn't then complain that people need to rely on charity to pay their doctor bills.

Right. So what’s the correct amount to charge, given that some people cannot pay anything?
