I’ve been cautious here on #medtwitter about capital P Politics.
But there is just too much at stake. Our disastrous healthcare system. The climate crisis. Profound income inequality. And so much more. Feels about time to be more outspoken and say:

It is a moral and ethical imperative for doctors to speak up about public policy that harms our patients and communities. It’s one reason why I’m running for Congress: I cannot remain silent and I’m ready to do the work. #medtwitter

Doctors have stayed on the sidelines for far too long as public policy has decimated the underserved and underrepresented. We see this every day and to stay silent is to be complicit.
