I would go further. Doctors need to work to enact public policy by running for office (like me) or by financially supporting those of us who are. Rn, attorneys outspend physicians on political donations by about 50:1. We are an untapped resource for change.

You mean untapped special interest? Few, if any, political causes backed by physicians are anything but self interested. Billing for things you don’t do, legal. @AnesthesiaCRNA

Absolutely not. This is why I don’t accept PAC money from physician groups. There is a growing movement among doctors to use our influence to affect positive public policy. Check out @Doc4CampClosure a group dedicated to closing detention centers at the border...

And has raised the funds to give free flu vaccines to children in detention. We have publicly protested, written letters to CBP and DHS, and are staging an event in CA this week to demand access to these children. Check out the trip I made to the border on behalf of...

CA. Enough said. Financially insolvent due to abusive spending. Medicine has sold out to Wall Street. MD’s got in bed with government for Medicare, and now that cost is controlled by low reimbursement, you take few patients. MD is not synomouys with benevolent.

No it’s not. But there are thousands of us who are speaking up and out on behalf of the underserved and who know that #HealthcareIsAHumanRight, and who are fighting to improve multiple systems that affect communities.

Government doesn’t bestow rights. Healthcare is not a right. Healthcare may be an entitlement, but it’s not a right. The patriarchal medical model needs to be addressed. Nurse Practitioners need to work to the full extent of their training. Keeping them down continues sufferage.
