I asked this question about Linsey to one of his senate colleagues who has worked closely with him for years. That person said it was nothing nefarious. He was just afraid of not having Trump’s support for his re-election.

But how does one go from, “He will destroy the Republican Party” to “I won’t even read evidence against him.” This doesn’t make any sense, unless he is just waiting, knowing his Senators will vote to get rid of him...
