Hot take: is it ethical for a party precinct chair’s husband to match donations up to $500 in a Congressional primary?

100% ethical! Most of the precinct chairs in my county donate and support their preferred candidates. Only party officers are asked to refrain from promoting candidates. But they can still donate to whoever they want.

So the party chair is promoting a candidate and they are doing online donation matching and that is “legal” so you feel like that makes it ethical? That is a problem - this tells me this party chair is interfering with the primary - this is not a good situation at all

Precinct chair. There are 160 in our district and they all are fee to choose and promote the candidate they think represents their values. Almost all of the candidates in the primary have multiple precinct chairs promoting them.
