@ReichlinMelnick see @DrChristineMann thread on missing asylum seekers in Nuevo Laredo. INM is apparently transporting them away from the US border so they miss their asylum hearings.

From my experience & talking w/agents, there’s a couple of reasons: it makes them miss their asylum hearings & therefore voids them, it wears them down so they give up & it keeps the press & volunteers from seeing & reporting the horrible conditions CBP is returning them from.
