@ReichlinMelnick see @DrChristineMann thread on missing asylum seekers in Nuevo Laredo. INM is apparently transporting them away from the US border so they miss their asylum hearings.

Yep, all the way to Chiapas in some cases! I am still very much trying to figure out what (if any) plan is there to bring them back for hearings. So far it's only happened in Nuevo Laredo (and maybe also in Matamoros) but information on the ground is incredibly scarce.
Re: info on the ground. I’ve been working with Catholic Charities which has dioceses in Chiapas. No one knows anything. It’s like a black hole. The migrants we spoke to said they had been given no plan for coming back for their hearings. Just a date to appear in Laredo.

Additionally, they were asking *us* what they were supposed to do. This policy is working *exactly* as planned making it nearly impossible for these people to seek asylum as they planned.
