What I can’t understand is why the obscenely wealthy don’t realize that living in a society with a vibrant working middle class makes life better for everyone including the top earners. Societies with obscene income disparity are more prone to crime, turmoil, disease, & despair.
Eventually our society will collapse and their heirs will reap the consequences. In the meantime, they’re going to keep hoarding everything they can. I’d rather it not get to that, ya’ know?
Hopefully they will come to that realization. Efforts to restore balance will be much more likely to succeed if the hyper wealthy recognize it as a much needed correction away from the cliff's edge.
