Partially true. In This district, Dems have traditionally raised only about $30,000, which is nowhere close to enough. Last cycle was an exception when MJ Hegar raised $5.1 million on the strength of her video & her story, with $$$ from outside the district. We need to match that

And we need that money to convert Texas from a non-voting state to a voting state. We do that with strong voter outreach, which costs money. I’m already making constituent calls; over 1100 so far. But I need $$$ to expand that universe. I’ll do the work. Just need the support.

There will be record voter turnout in 2020 and if the Dem POTUS nominee is the candidate that would also help you. But you are right that turnout for Dems in TX is poor.

We have all of that. And she lost by 2.91% in a district that was formerly R+12. We have STRONG district-wide grassroots organizations and are already working on mobilization.

Hear has a compelling story but she also raised money like candidates across the country. 2018 was a vote against Trump. 2020 will be the same. Not saying it's easy, but not sure it makes sense to look back to 2016 and before.
