I'm honored to have been accepted as a physician volunteer at the La Frontera Shelter and clinic in Laredo, TX. In 5 days I will begin providing medical exams for immigrants as they leave the shelter after having been detained by Customs & Border Patrol.http://gf.me/u/ug93hx

I’m not employed by Catholic Charities, I’m taking a volunteer opportunity to provide care for migrants. My oath and obligation is to provide necessary medical care, including advice and treatment regarding reproductive care, including abortion services. I will abide by that oath

I’m not sure of your question then. I don’t “provide” birth control to anyone in my private practice. I write prescriptions for it. I will do the same in this volunteer position. Birth control is not something that is stocked in the office in most medical practices. We write Rxs.

So if your asking “does this clinic have birth control on the shelf to hand out?”, the answer is I doubt it. I don’t have it on the shelf in my private practice either, just like I don’t have antibiotics on the shelf.

But if you’re asking “will I write prescriptions for birth control while I’m there just like I do in my private practice?”, the answer is of course I will.
