3. Realize that while the majority of elected Democrats are horrified by this, few are willing to use the words that are necessary. Which Dems backed @AOC up when she called these what they are: #ConcentrationCamps? Why haven’t other Dems stepped up? ASK THEM.
4. Show up at you elected leaders offices. Make time to be there in person. In-person action is MUCH more effective than other actions, but you should still call, protest, write letters to the editor, and get your peers involved. Make political *action* an everyday part of life.
5. Accept that in reality, the only thing motivates politicians is challenges to their jobs. Everything else I listed is worthwhile, but ultimately we must always and forever show up in overwhelming numbers at the ballot box.
6. Find candidates for office who are both willing to speak the truth about this, AND whose actions back up their words. Candidates will tell you whatever, so you need to check their track record.
7. When you find those candidates, support them with your time and money. This means making yourself uncomfortable. Skip dinners out and trips to the spa and give that money and time to candidates. Work and donate like these children’s lives depend on it-because they do.
