Same. Our campaign finance system is set up to reward people who *already* have power, influence, connections, and access to money. Have you ever wondered why some candidates come out of the gate with huge financial donations?https://twitter.com/BeeKay4ME/status/1138446068239216641 …

It’s because they are *already* plugged into the circle of influence. They *already* have connections to high dollar donors. They *already* have the attention of power brokers. If you really want to change politics, you must ignore the breathless coverage of huge $ hauls.

Ask yourself *why* does candidate X have this much money? Then go look at their financial reports: they’re public information. If they have loads of small donors, great! But if most of their money is from the already rich and powerful? Will they really be working for you?

To be clear, campaigns are expensive. It costs A LOT to run an effective campaign, hire great staff, communicate with voters. I’m spending a ton of time raising money, because that’s our system, and I intend to do whatever it takes to win. I need all of your financial support.
