Is it a HIPAA violation to comment on a news story or medical fundraiser that you took care of the patient?

When i see my patients in the community, i don’t even introduce them to anyone I’m with as my patient unless they initiate and call me their doctor. That relationship is sacred. Unless the pt requested I talk to the media, I would never. No HIPAA needed. It’s integrity.
