Y’all, they’re here. Pre-existing condition denials are here. It’s been years since I had to fill out a pre-existing condition form for my patients. I received one today. Here’s what happens: 1/9

In addition to the questionnaires that you fill out when you apply for healthcare coverage, insurance companies send doctors questionnaires about you. We have to list diagnoses, lab results, medications, consultants, etc., in an attempt to avoid paying for your medical care. 2/9

It pits doctors against patients and puts us in the despicable position of aiding the insurance companies in their attempts to drive up their profits at your expense. The Affordable Care Act took care of all that. 3/9

And although it left way too many people without coverage, it was a step in the right direction. The Trump administration has been working steadily to dismantle it, and has succeeded. The CDC has reported that 1.1 million people lost their healthcare coverage in 2018. 4/9

I’m tired, y’all. I’m tired of the stories and the struggles and the deaths, and I’m frustrated with my party. While people suffer and die, we are dithering and fighting about what needs to be done. Too many of us are trapped in an “it can’t be done” mentality. 5/9

Since when did we become so timid? Since when did we shy away from meeting big challenges? Since when did we listen to naysayers instead of doing the right thing? The right thing is staring us in the face: Universal Coverage, Single Payer Healthcare. 6/9

Or, as I like to call it, the #SavesMoneySavesLives Healthcare plan. Because that’s what it does. This issue is one of the main reasons I am running again for Congress. 7/9

I’m tired of being tired. I’m going to fight for this until it is fixed or I’m dead, and I’ll take on anyone from either party who is willing to settle for anything less than coverage for EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN. No tinkering around the edges and no half-measures. 8/9
