446 people came to the Texas Capitol to support a bill that would criminalize abortion from the moment of conception. 446 people took time out of their lives to equate abortion with murder. 2/5
446 people were ok with the understanding that in Texas, the penalty for murder is death. 446 people came out to say things like “A woman who has committed murder should be charged with murder”. A Houston pastor said “Whoever authorizes or commits murder is guilty”. 3/5
The fact that this bill even got a committee hearing should alarm anyone who claims to be an ally to women and a supporter of reproductive rights. That 446 people showed up in support should alarm anyone who values women’s bodily autonomy. 4/5
