446 people were ok with the understanding that in Texas, the penalty for murder is death. 446 people came out to say things like “A woman who has committed murder should be charged with murder”. A Houston pastor said “Whoever authorizes or commits murder is guilty”. 3/5

The fact that this bill even got a committee hearing should alarm anyone who claims to be an ally to women and a supporter of reproductive rights. That 446 people showed up in support should alarm anyone who values women’s bodily autonomy. 4/5
