I could write a book about what I have been through with this. I'm a doctor! I KNEW something was wrong. Despite looking at inverted T-waves on my EKG, I had to keep going to cardiologist. They kept saying it was in my head. I had to fight to find the cause.
Took 5 ER visits later. I have had my credentials challenged. Accused of being over dramatic. Told I had residents syndrome. Never will forget the one cardiologist who came into my room to do the echo and said, "We are doing an echo, but we aren't going to find anything." 1/2
The the echo came back bicuspid aortic valve with aortic aneurysm. And he was like "Well that shouldn't be causing your chest pain". WHAT?! So I went to the specialist at CCF. Bicuspid, aneurysm, regurg, heart failure. But of course it is all in my head. OK. 2/2
