Two things can be true at the same time. @SenFeinstein has a ton of experience, is a reliable ally, and is an effective legislator AND she could have been less dismissive to the young activists who came to her office. Yes, I’ve seen the whole, unedited version. 1/6

I’m not sure why we keep making things an either/or situation. Activists have a responsibility to push for the legislation that is important to them. I’m not sure why we have an issue with that. It’s activism 101. Is it because we can’t handle pressure on our own side? 2/6

Why is that such an issue? Lobbyists put pressure on legislators ALL THE TIME for the things they want. Why shouldn’t activists do the same? Maybe because lobbying happens behind closed doors, so we are blind to it? 3/6

Any way, I’m not sure why people are calling it a “set-up” or a “hit”. Do we think
@SenFeinstein is unable to withstand pressure and do what she thinks is right? Do we think that activists should not do exactly what activists do? 4/61 reply 0 retweets 3 likesShow this thread -
Activism is meant to make people uncomfortable. Acitivism requires tactics that gains attention and makes you rethink your priors. Activists use theatrics all the time. 5/6

These activists are correct: Climate Change is an emergency situation. They did what activists do. AND @SenFeinstein could have handled it better. Can we move on now? 6/6
