Where would we be if Civil Rights Era activists and politicians had shrugged and said “this is too hard”? Where would we be if LGBTQ activists had given up and decided that reforms weren’t possible. 2/5

I’m so tired of hearing “centrists” trying to shut down those of us who are fighting for people’s lives. I’ve been a Democrat my entire life. I’ve worked to get Democrats elected at all levels, and vocally supported Hillary Clinton in 2016. 3/5

Enough with ridiculing and silencing those of us who argue that we MUST keep talking about
#MedicareForAll. Talking about it, advocating for it is EXACTLY how we get there. 4/5Show this thread -
I won’t stop talking about it until the day comes when I NEVER have to hear my patients choose between medical care and bankruptcy. I won’t stop talking about it until no one dies in my country due to lack of care.

Plenty of other countries less prosperous than the US seem to manage to provide universal healthcare.
-
And the real sting in the tail : ALL of them do it for less than the USA already pays in taxes spent on healthcare. Yup. Every other nation on earth pays less per head (private and public spending *combined*) for healthcare than _just_ your taxes.https://data.oecd.org/healthres/health-spending.htm …

The “political environment” we’re now in is controlled by the GOP and has been since 2010. If you know they “don’t care,” explain to me why you think Democrats should lie about how “possible” it is to deliver that goal at this time. They can’t do it as the minority party. Period.

Let's fight to change the political environment.
