      @DrChrisMoulton will prob have a quick answer. What a refreshing question to ask "is the intrepretation of this report correct and as the authors intended?" If only many others asked the same question before publishing takes on studies.

      This is a funny slide show somewhere of the journey of an academic study from researcher to uni media outlet to news to social media to researchers mum and back to said researcher.

      The numbers are surprising and need careful scrutiny and consideration. They were sent to @guardian illicitly without the authors’ knowledge or consent, prior to peer reviewed publication. @NHSGIRFT

          It is. But I am hardly an unbiased witness. I have been talking about the lack of beds in the NHS for nearly 25 years and the mismatch of demand and capacity for our growing and ageing population.
