One sarcastic tweet from 2011, and you are pleased a 26 year old woman dies.

I did not ever say I was pleased - I am never pleased that someone dies. This woman took an
#AntiVaccine stance, and a stance against universal healthcare. Both save lives.#irony. -
You retweeted this guy who thought your tweet was hilarious.pic.twitter.com/6jE4vW4tB3
-
that is not thinking it is hilarious. That is just not believing it is real. Are you really that stupid?
-
You seem agitated. How is your court mandated psychiatric treatment going?https://www.pressherald.com/2018/08/17/disciplined-doctor-clashed-with-patients-over-trump/ …

1. Not court - that is the Board of Medicine - which does not follow Due Process. 2. Just fine thanks

Nope. Flu vaccines are more toxic than effective. According to what I've read, there is no vaccine for 'The swine flu' which is being blamed for her death. That said, I don't buy this story. Too convenient for a reporter who broke damaging news on the
#Mueller investigation.pic.twitter.com/uXolpziiu4

H1N1 absolutely has a vaccine
-
might want to take your tinfoil hat off.
-
I'm not wearing one, doc. Thank you for your input tho.

This article says the writer doesn't know if she got a flu shot or not. So he can't know that her death was preventable.
-
Not a big leap given her
#antiVax stance. He gave her the benefit of the doubt that she COULD have changed. -
I just wouldn't speculate. CDC report said: Protection by virus type and subtype was: 25% against A(H3N2), 65% against A(H1N1) and 49% against influenza B viruses.
-
Is there any evidence that a flu vaccine can offer partial protection so illness is shorter and less severe? During the H1N1 epidemic in 2009, my diabetic youngest got regular flu shot (H1N1 vaxx wasn’t available) and had a much milder illness than unvaccinated older brother.
-
Yes. Even when the match is not perfect those vaccinated tend to get MUCH milder course of illness if they get sick.
-
Thx, confirms what I suspected (though I didn’t need any more reason to get flu vaccine than knowing what flu does to the two diabetics in my household)

I believe that she was diagnosed with H1N1, but died from viral meningitis. Are the two always linked? Or do I have the facts wrong?
-
The H1N1 gave her meningitis - it is a complication of the flu
-
Meningitis seems exceptionally rare from what I'm reading, at least with previous outbreaks of H1N1. Not good.
-
Rare is not zero. You want to take the risk? Children die - you want to take the risk?
-
What, exactly, is your point? I simply made a statement of fact. Who are you arguing with? I've already gotten my flu shot.

I’ve been a tenured biology professor for 29 years. My tweet stands as it was originally written. The abstracts I was looking at, in South Africa, China, etc report meningitis (bacterial or viral ?) linked to H1N1 at a low percentage. There’s not a lot to misinterpret.
