team is 🔥 ! We are getting #monkeypox vaccine out as quickly as we get it.
Give your #publichealth folks some love. These are the same people who respond to #COVID19 and are getting ready for #BacktoSchool2022 vaccines. 😅
Honored to have been part of an amazing @SaltLakeHealth team today that provided 900 #monkeypox vaccines to the people in our community who are at the greatest risk.
And I’m proud of my local #SLC MSM community for being so responsive and responsible by protecting themselves!
#SaltLakeCounty We are in LOW #COVID19 transmission. Take the win! We are at risk for another surge with the BA2 variant. BUT, the #CovidVaccine works against BA2. Get your vaccine and booster. Thanks to
#COVID19 numbers looking better, #SaltLakeCounty! ER visits for COVID-like illness and wastewater metrics are down. Still have high hospitalizations - 40 per day on average. But that is better than last week at 48! Vax, mask, stay home when sick. https://slco.org/health/COVID-19/council-update/…
Respirators such as N95 or KN95 masks offer the highest level of protection against #COVID19 when worn correctly. Don't have a respirator mask? Visit any @_CountyLibrary branch or @SLCoAging center to get one FREE of cost.

My five-year-old son thinks it’s funny that he locked me out of the house while I am watching the sunset on my deck with a glass of wine. Now alone. The joke is on him.
Wearing a well-fitted mask such as a KN90 or KN95 respirator—along with best practices like vaccination/booster and social distancing—is a great way to protect ourselves from Omicron.
Masks are available for FREE at
Lots of questions about school case rates. First table is Fall 2021 when testing was accessible. Second is first two weeks of Jan, when testing practices were drastically different -- making case rates incomparable. However % positivity is worth noting.

SLCo, listen up -
Highest 14-day avg #COVID19 hospitalizations - 43.5 SLCo residents hospitalized everyday. COVID hospitalizations have doubled in 14 days. We can prevent further strain on our hospitals, schools, businesses, essential services.
Vax. Mask. Stay home when sick.
With the highly contagious Omicron variant spreading in our community, experts recommend you upgrade to a high-filtration mask, like a KN90 or KN95 respirator, for optimal protection.
Another record day of #COVID19 cases in #SaltLakeCounty - over 5,500. The number of kids being hospitalized due to COVID is increasing, 23 admitted yesterday. And we can't do TTS due to lack of testing capacity - losing another layer of protection. Vax. Mask. Stay home when sick.
.@BradWilsonGOP meeting with reporters ahead of the #utleg session.
He announces that they will allow schools to go to remote learning if they hit the test-to-stay threshold and school boards approve. @fox13#utpol
Let’s use the next #30days to get more boosted and vaxed so we don’t need to use masks to help prevent spread. All #CovidVaccine types for all eligible populations
1. Get vaccinated/boosted when eligible
2. Wear a mask in indoor public spaces - including businesses, schools, groceries.
3. Get tested if symptomatic and stay home.
4. If not vaccinated, avoid indoor gatherings.
Straightforward. Simple. Effective.
Please don't let the modest decrease in severity in omicron lull you into a false sense of security. Getting hit by a pickup truck is less severe than getting hit by a bus, but better not to step in front of either
Yesterday we had the most #COVID cases in a single day ever. Over 2000 in #SLCo and nearly 5000 in #Utah. 63.7% >5yrs in SLCo have been vaccinated. Only 35% of eligible have been boosted. You aren't protected if you aren't boosted. Get vaccinated on 1/1/21 with @SaltLakeHealth.
If you are vaccinated and boosted, enjoy NYE and the Rose Bowl with others who are vaccinated and boosted. If you aren't, you can minimize your risk by avoiding large gatherings and wearing a mask - or you can expect to get infected with #COVID19.

described other infection curves, we now have a wall of infections.
The best way to protect you and your loved ones is to get the #CovidVaccine ASAP - including a booster. https://thisisourshot.com

6/ If you are or take care of someone who is 5 years or older, go to https://thisisourshot.com and find a vaccine for you and your kids. Get boosted ASAP. Let's work together to prevent another surge this winter. It will take each and everyone of us. Thank you.
5/ Right now, 5.4% of Utah cases are hospitalized. If this holds true, we will have over 80 SLCo residents hospitalized everyday due to COVID. Right now we have about 23 daily hospitalizations, and our hospitals are full.
4/ #SaltLakeCounty - we have 64% of our population fully vaccinated (compared to 80% in Miami-Dade). AND our hospitals are already at capacity. We CANNOT be complacent. If we experience a similar surge, we will have nearly 1,500 cases per day.
3/ A quote from my bada$$ doctor friend in Miami: "...everyone has COVID in a way that is unlike any previous way. Like everyone is going down simultaneously right now. If someone told me last week that this week would happen, I would not have believed it."
2/ Now they are on the brink of a severe hospital staffing shortage. The staff might not die from #COVID; they are vaccinated. But they are not going to work if they are infected. We will have more excess deaths because people might not get the care they need for non-COVID issues
1/ Get vaccinated #SaltLakeCounty! Follow along . . . Miami-Dade County, FL had 11,543 new cases in the past 7 days. Had only 1,985 cases week of Dec 3. 80% of their population is fully vaccinated. Last week they had plenty of hospital capacity.
