The team is 🔥 ! We are getting #monkeypox vaccine out as quickly as we get it. Give your #publichealth folks some love. These are the same people who respond to #COVID19 and are getting ready for #BacktoSchool2022 vaccines. 😅

Honored to have been part of an amazing @SaltLakeHealth team today that provided 900 #monkeypox vaccines to the people in our community who are at the greatest risk. And I’m proud of my local #SLC MSM community for being so responsive and responsible by protecting themselves!

My five-year-old son thinks it’s funny that he locked me out of the house while I am watching the sunset on my deck with a glass of wine. Now alone. The joke is on him.

SLCo, listen up - Highest 14-day avg #COVID19 hospitalizations - 43.5 SLCo residents hospitalized everyday. COVID hospitalizations have doubled in 14 days. We can prevent further strain on our hospitals, schools, businesses, essential services. Vax. Mask. Stay home when sick.

Another record day of #COVID19 cases in #SaltLakeCounty - over 5,500. The number of kids being hospitalized due to COVID is increasing, 23 admitted yesterday. And we can't do TTS due to lack of testing capacity - losing another layer of protection. Vax. Mask. Stay home when sick.

Thanks Please don't let the modest decrease in severity in omicron lull you into a false sense of security. Getting hit by a pickup truck is less severe than getting hit by a bus, but better not to step in front of either

Yesterday we had the most #COVID cases in a single day ever. Over 2000 in #SLCo and nearly 5000 in #Utah. 63.7% >5yrs in SLCo have been vaccinated. Only 35% of eligible have been boosted. You aren't protected if you aren't boosted. Get vaccinated on 1/1/21 with @SaltLakeHealth.

If you are vaccinated and boosted, enjoy NYE and the Rose Bowl with others who are vaccinated and boosted. If you aren't, you can minimize your risk by avoiding large gatherings and wearing a mask - or you can expect to get infected with #COVID19.

5/ Right now, 5.4% of Utah cases are hospitalized. If this holds true, we will have over 80 SLCo residents hospitalized everyday due to COVID. Right now we have about 23 daily hospitalizations, and our hospitals are full.

3/ A quote from my bada$$ doctor friend in Miami: "...everyone has COVID in a way that is unlike any previous way. Like everyone is going down simultaneously right now. If someone told me last week that this week would happen, I would not have believed it."

2/ Now they are on the brink of a severe hospital staffing shortage. The staff might not die from #COVID; they are vaccinated. But they are not going to work if they are infected. We will have more excess deaths because people might not get the care they need for non-COVID issues
