This is exactly why juries on domestic violence and sexual violence trials should have mandatory one day training on challenging myths and trauma response. The Whole CJS needs a massive overhaul!

I agree, this case clearly sets out a number of issues (judges comments, concerns about juries) that need to be fully challenged and transformed. I also feel potential jurors (ie men like me) should have challenging consent training or disqualify ourselves from these cases

We don't know why CPS dropped the murder charge. Some well meaning reporting is feeding myths about 'consent' to SM sex being a defence to grievous bodily harm. Supreme Court have said it isn't, but the myths are influencing trials. Media's not helping by spreading them.
