Ah yes, comedy. The last bastion of free speech. Like at the comedy club where you can get booed off-stage if you fail to read the room right and they kick your ass out if you heckle the performer.

I get it. Some jokes don’t hit or just fall flat on their faces. But that doesn’t mean topics should be avoided.

Your overly-simplistic take of "No subject should be avoided." It's missing the point.

Being an asshole bigot just plain isn't funny. It's just being an asshole bigot.

Joking about controversial topics doesn’t make you a bigot. I mean, they’re called jokes for a reason. They aren’t meant to be taken seriously. I can joke about Islam, and not be an islamophobe (which I’m not) because they are jokes.

I mean is it really harassment though? If he’s pointing something out that’s true, then it’s just a statement of fact. Like if someone were to say to me “you’re a white fucking liberal!” I’d say “yeah I am, thanks for noticing”. But then again this isn’t about me.

"I mean is it really harassment though?" Yes. Calling someone a "lispy queer" to discredit them instead of engaging with their ideas is bad and the treatment Maza has been receiving is absolutely harassment.
