    I'd go with: SEO is not ONLY optimizing for search engines, but is optimizing for both users and SE. There are many technical aspects of SEO that are purely for search engines and even when it comes to content, you obviously should be optimizing for search engines as well.

    Reminder: SEO is not optimizing for search engines. SEO is optimizing for potential users/clients/customers/readers looking for your services/products/information via search engines so they can find you and choose you instead of your competitors.
