#11. Cancel Culture is quickly becoming a catch all term like "political correctness" used to describe everything from media figures with big platforms being ratieod on twitter to a Bernie Worker losing his job for tweets making fun of other candidates.

These just aren't the same things, nor are the part of the same trend. And like "political correctness" it is also now being used as a two word defense against being challenged for your positions.

Although I am happy to see in this essay the distinction between "free speech" (a constitutional right that is about the government limiting speech) and what institutions decide is acceptable debate within the spheres they construct and control.
