Thank you for this article. I come from former Eastern Block country and one thing I noticed is that people who remember communism are much more sensitive to the seeds of totalitarianism than people from the west. You are spot on, those seeds should not be undersestimated.

Listen to the language, it's very important, language is the first indicator of upcoming tyranny. First they will murder your right to dissent, after that they will murder you.

Once again Mr Murray articulates so well the growing cancer that is allowed to go unchecked in our society. What’s next I wonder? We keep waiting for a return to common sense and normality but every week the lunacy appears to grow.

Brilliant article
@DouglasKMurray. I think it's spot on. I've experienced this mentality in the past in the workplace with a bullying employer nobody stood up to, when it came to me, I fought, but was on my own. So many people said to me "just accept it & keep your head down". -

It would be easier to fight for a victim of cancel culture if they didn’t roll over so easily themselves. Why did Stewart accept his dismissal with a mildly-worded statement and immediately delete his twitter account? If he’s not fighting for himself, how can we?

Tunison went so far as to endorse the very practice by which he was victimised, only objecting to his own inclusion.
