The most disappointing thing is seeing how many 'comedians' are shitting all over him for it, acting like this isn't a classic Louis set, like somehow he's changed directions.

If you can’t see how lazy and objectively bad the last half of his set is compared to any of his recorded work you’ve either never listened or are deaf.
-
That's the point. Louis CK isn't a hill most people are prepared to die on, but comedy and how its constructed should be respected - for every comedian. Comedians have hundreds of bits that don't work, aren't funny or aren't ready at these club gigs in their life - many will bomb
-
Most of the great comedy bits Louis CK has done in his career have been centred around issues which could easily draw the same outrage if he hadn't worked the material well enough to tap-dance around it and make you laugh. That's what great comics do. Nobody is batting 1000.
-
Everyone knows what the issue with Louis CK is. People should just be honest about the reason they're focused on him, like every comedian in the world, having a couple of shitty bits - hacky, in this instance, even - he's trying to work.
-
lets be honest, there aren't legitimately "funny" people who understand comedy attacking Louis. They are people motivated by being part of the mainstream "in" group, aka the social media outrage culture which wants to destroy context in all human interaction. context matters

Still waiting for you to polish up this tweet so it makes sense, Doug. So ... let’s see. CK is Bob, and the Parkland kids are the allegedly ugly coworker. And I’m the “gossip” in the middle. But Bob said it, snd there’s a tape! So, I’m the bad guy for playing the tape? //
-
I did already. TMZ etc is Bob. The victim families are the ugly girl that would never have known they were offended if Bob didn't make them aware. I'm the guy that has to explain it repeatedly to simpletons. Everyone is a dick, mostly me for replying to you.

Siding against murdered kids is a hell of a look.

Did you listen to the bit in context or just read it without context or cadence? It’s the climax of a bit about teens being snotty and judgmental while missing out on the limited time their age accords them to be reckless and have fun. It needs work but could be really funny.
-
I listened to the whole shitty thing. Oof. Why you would have to have no taste or ability to think for yourself to think it was in any way shape or form a good set.
-
Room full of people laughing. Set must have been awful. How do you live life so thin skinned?
-
I don't know man. But your skin is so thin you're outraged at criticism. You loathe the idea of criticism. It's depressing. A lot of so called Americans coming up against my constitutional right to say: this bit is trash.
-
I’m not saying you can’t have opinion and I’m not outraged. I’m more shocked how people get so offended by everything. If you were in that crowd, you’d be the one person in the corner with your arms crossed while everyone else was laughing. What comics do you like?
-
People walked out of the set. CK even mentioned them as it was happening. This isn't making headlines because the entire world is sensitive.
-
So? The majority laughed and he got a standing ovation. People enjoy takes and point of views on dark topics. Comedy would be so lame if you just made fun of socially approved things. If you don’t like it don’t give him your money. There’s no Louis CK tax. He sells out for a rea
