People just see a mob and this elicits fear and panic, as is natural. Individuals SHOULD fear mobs, it's a survival instinct as well as a rational response to a greater threat to your safety.
Safe topics, that vary by group, again: Men need to be taught not to rape, circumcision is mutilation of men, whites need an ethno-state, I'm not against Jews, I just hate Israel and support Palestinian terrorists, believe all women, ban all religion, sharia law is good,

all Muslims are terrorists, 80% of women are undateable and have BPD, shout your abortion, life begins at conception, pass laws to protect only women, if you believe in equality then you're a feminist, free speech no matter what, ban hate-speech, climate change will kill us all,

not having free contraception and abortion is sexist and anti-woman, no woman should be allowed to have an abortion, and so on. You get the point. Some are polarizing and extreme. Some are ones you may agree with, as an individual or a part of a group.
-
Most people don't hold extreme views but their views lean one way or another on different issues. The groups people are drawn to, tend to have many elements they like, with some they don't but we join these groups. Which is not a bad thing. Like minded people are drawn together.
-
We can be in that group and dismiss some of the views held by the dwellers of that group. Even dip our toes in the opposing group or groups, carefully. We can see why opposing groups think 1 while we think 0. Perhaps we will chose to believe 0.5, 0.7, or 0.2...
-
This is dangerous, in the binary mind of the dwellers. There are no fractions permitted, you are either 1 or 0, anything else is impure and doesn't compute so will either be ignored or, if too many are inputting bad code, it must be purged for them to function.
-
Excuse the mixing of metaphors, I hope it still illustrates my point. Ideological purity within groups and identities is doctrine to dwellers of the box within the group/identity. The dwellers of the boxes, they are vastly outnumbered by the individuals in the group/identity.
-
As long as the individuals in these groups continue to be silent out of fear, the dwellers will shape society for us all. We are seeing this happen now, on a massive level. This is, however, not a new phenomenon, far from it. This is a pattern, repeating across all human history.
-
This is why dwellers inhabit places of learning, power, and news/platforms where alternative views/news may be expressed. History is one long story, a saga. This saga has prequels, sequels, and spin-offs. Some are tales of heroism and triumph, others, tales of woe, and suffering.
-
We will visit these stories and we will feel proud, ashamed, inspired, depressed, happy, sad, etc. Often a combination of many feelings. In the end, we may even learn something. Some lessons are timeless, the story can be a classic or it can be modern. Lessons can be learned.
-
The dwellers, they don't want you to see these tales. They prefer to make fan-fiction, reboots with more 'diversity', or ban episodes or edit the actual saga to ensure their orthodoxy isn't threatened by the saga, that is history. It's easy, they control the showings of the saga.
-
Certain dwellers in certain groups hold these powers the most, at this time, though competing dwellers and their groups these positions in the past. These current dwellers are creating dwellers from childhood. Now, the individuals in these group are seeing a rise in dwellers.
-
There is a chance that the dwellers, always a minority before, will not only have the appearance of a majority, but an actual majority, due to indoctrination of the young and those seeking the safe feeling of the box as the dwellers sow fear outside of their group.
-
The dwellers dredge up old grievances, already heading towards a place of peace, and drastically alter the course by stirring up old prejudices and anger at ancestral wrongs. Identity B is oppressing you, Identity A. They shout. Seek safety and shelter in our group, in our box!
-
Well, many individuals know the true history of humanity and recognize this oft repeated pattern of misinformation, division, hatred, then the beacon being lit, conveniently at the center certain boxes, as the only safe place for everyone to dwellers targeted and manipulated.
-
A few individuals speak up, point out the pattern. They are swiftly branded or banished. The rest of the individuals say nothing, fearing this treatment. Society is made worse, fear is raised, hatred stoked, all over fears hate that, while based on reality, were inflated falsely.
-
The fears and issues faced by this identity were like a carving of a beast. Solid and real, but placed by a fire in a cave. Rather than showing everyone the carving, the dwellers showed the massive, distorted shadow of the carving, projected on the cave wall.
-
This same technique was used by the dwellers of these groups, each showing the cave projections rather than the carvings of real issues and problems. The carvings were things like racism, college rape, male criminals, 'assault' weapons, police corruption/racism, white supremacy,
-
crime committed by illegal immigrants, Trump, etc. Some of the dwellers' groups putting forth projections were in opposition to the more dominant dweller's groups but there is an overall theme as many dwellers work with other dwellers whose views are close to theirs.
-
This allegiance is not without its friction and skirmishes between opposing boxes and their groups, but they've reached a détente. The individuals have watched this happen. Many observe the seemingly obvious repetition of the pattern throughout history. How many? No way to know.
-
Will they speak? Will the individuals rise up and challenge this group of boxes full of dwellers holding power? Do we risk forming our own group for fear that in our effort to resist, we end up with our own box within, filling with dwellers?
-
I don't have the answers. I am a Dork with an drawn avatar (made by my artistic friend). What do I know? I belong to many groups myself, clearly as my bias leaked through, despite best efforts. Perhaps I am even a dweller, myself? How does one know? I hope I am not, I do my best.
-
Will history repeat as those box dwellers continue to move forward with their crusade, trampling the innocent beneath their feet, blissfully unaware, due to the safe and unanimously self righteous voices in their box, spurring them ever forward? Unwavering in conviction.
-
Dangerously blinded by the walls of their box to the casualties, destruction, and innocent masses, crying out for them to stop? There are precedents, in history, of such groups and coalitions of groups being stopped. The guarantee is that there will be destruction and suffering.
-
The observation I've made, is that the only difference in this particular pattern's conclusion/transition into another pattern, is the level of destruction and suffering required to stop it. I hope for the least. Due process is at risk, the destruction of that... I hope to avoid.
-
Not sure why I felt the need to say all this or where it came from but I hope it makes sense to people out there. Perhaps some might find commonality or truth within. Maybe it will stimulate conversations. Or it will never be read. Well, that's all from me. Be well, all. A Dork
