    In 2015, 9 innocent people were gunned down at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC. The gun used was sold even though the background check wasn't completed. It's past time for thoughts and prayers. We need action. is an important first step.

    For too long, we have only offered our “thoughts and prayers” to victims of gun violence and their families. Today, Congress took action. Proud to have voted for that will finally close loopholes and require background checks for every gun purchase.
