    the fb auto video feature really is one of the features with the highest miss rate, IMO. the goal of any feature using real peoples’ experiences should start first from the design case of “what’s the worst pain this could cause someone?”

    Facebook is pushing that "share a memory" junk where they make custom videos out of your old photos to boost engagement and I just literally got shown a bunch of happy cartoon characters dancing on my mom's grave. 🤦‍♂️

    This thread about church in Ireland is brutal. Are (and were) things like church arsons and violence against priests common there? With so many people traumatized I'd expect a few to snap..

    What's ur fave story of the church being cunts. Mine is the priest at my gran's funeral changing the song she picked bc he didn't like it

    This makes so much more sense than my archeology teachers: All of them claimed that these paleolithic statues were made by generations of men who were into bib-shaped women. In a rather mobile hunter-gatherer society, mind.

    evidence that ancient paleolithic venus statues were made by women who were examining their own bodies and sculpting them from their own point of view, not, as previously assumed, exaggerated features from an outside perspective

    Holy shit, this is amazing!

    Back in the 90's there was this calendar software that had the most calming and beautiful animated landscapes. Thanksfully someone made it work again with html 5. Mark Ferrari (original artist) is a genius. Make sure to open options and change time of day
