      4,000 hours of watch time is worth about $150-200 on my channel. My channel exceeds requirements so am fine but for other channels, that $200 could be used to pay a bill, buy new equipment, pay for ads to reach new people. @TeamYouTube killing off creators at the first hurdle.

      No, but by far most of my videos are complete blood bowl matches lasting 1.5 - 2 hrs, with only an ad before, half way, and at the end. So they get a lot of watch time off of a single view (16m31s average), without getting proportional ad showings.

      Also, my stuff gets watched A) by nerds and B) on desktop mostly, which has far more ad-block than the average YT user.

      Ah yeah good point. I never use ad block. Even before I was a creator. If it helps the creator then I'm fine with ads
