Release 1000 prisoners and something bad will happen. Pick 1000 people at random and one of them will do something terrible. Those people didn’t wind up in jail by accident. Have you ever met someone with a low iq and almost no impulse control?

Yes, but you’re also now perpetuating myths about a ton of people. When someone is in custody, they have the right to safe and sterile housing; no one should be put at more risk for this simply because they’re imprisoned. (There are also a ton of low risk people in prison/jail).

That’s not how it’s supposed to be, that’s what we’ve allowed it to become. Also consider that the US incarcerates more people, and for longer sentences than any other developed country, yet our crime and recidivism rates remain higher. You can’t jail your way to public safety.

You’re towing the CJ college student position. Try telling someone who’s been raped that jailing the attacker won’t do anything, and therefore isn’t worth the effort.

Criminals rights group claims to speak for victims, that’s extremely rich. Do you think the person that made that document has an agenda? Or did they make it by accident?

They literally use data from the National Crime Victim Survey and follow it up. You don’t have to like the group, but the methodology is sound, you can read it on the second to last page. Also “criminal right” are human rights, because they’re still, you know, human beings.

Do you know what selection bias is? It means victims that don’t share the radical agenda of the survey maker might not bother to respond. Are victims required to provide data? You have academia brain worse than I thought, also you have a fat face and a weak jawline.

it’s followed up information from a fucking Department of Justice Survey. My academia brain knows a lot about selection bias, which isn’t really a factor here because they piggybacked off the other study. It would be if they only surveyed CJ reform advocates or something.

It’s very late in Florida, if that’s where you’re at. I’m sure there are a lot of people who could do fine getting released but from my perspective here in CA I see shitheads from all over coming here to get high and act shitty. Fuck em all i say.
