He's been way more on the ball in this outbreak than any other public health official. Called early for FDA to allow private CLIA tests - took them a month to finally do it.

I don’t think anyone knows why he left FDA. And am surprised at your credulous reading of “departing to spend time with family”, which usually means ‘irreconcible differences with leadership” or “fired”. Seems like a pretty solid info source to me
