LinkedIn is copying the contents of my clipboard every keystroke. IOS 14 allows users to see each paste notification. I’m on an IPad Pro and it’s copying from the clipboard of my MacBook Pro. Tik tok just got called out for this exact reason.

I don’t think this violates any specific laws but it definitely will make more people nervous when handling sensitive data on devices. Tik Tok responded to the issue saying that it is “triggered by a feature designed to identity repetitive, spammy behavior” 🤔

I wonder how long this has been going on 😅 I haven’t seen any news about LinkedIn doing this so I wanted to put it out there.

Going to try to find some other apps doing this as well and compile a list. Stay tuned 🕵️‍♂️👀

Have to ask, could it be that TikTok, LinkedIn, and Reddit are all using a library that’s stealing clipboard content? Wouldn’t surprise me if they’re all sharing a dependency with this behavior. Seems strange that they’re all doing precisely the same thing.
