VR gaming was showing strong growth, but it wasn't ENOUGH growth for the unhinged hypercapitalists who want exponential year-on-year gains. So they tried to rebrand VR as a productivity tool, and nobody wanted it.
And the lesson they took away from it is that nobody wants VR...

Don't get me wrong, VR is extremely good and cool.
It's just that you won't see most of the good and cool stuff unless you step outside of corporate walled gardens, because it's the hobbyists, freaks and outliers that are doing all the heavy lifting right now.

There are a few upcoming VR games I want. Vertigo 2 looks spectacular, but is also an almost-solo production. Again, highlighting just how much can be done with passion and talent, because clearly money ain't.
