A busy day in Walton at my pop-up surgery in discussing traffic calming measures outside schools, then catching up with our Veterans Support Association, and looking at a new anti-social behaviour initiative in the St John’s area with Surrey PCC, .

Thanks to British Transport Police and for meeting with me at Walton Station today to discuss bike thefts. CCTV is being increased at stations, and BTP are promoting preventative measures, including more secure locks and bike registration, to deter thefts.

It takes a lot to shock me. And I am well aware of the Guardian's and especially Rowson's form. But I still find it genuinely shocking that not a single person looked at this and said, no, we can't run this. To me that's the real issue.

New statistics show our efforts to increase rape convictions are working – up 38% in the last quarter, with faster justice for more victims. There's more to do and we're quadrupling victims funding & improving police/CPS collaboration so victims feel better supported.

Today we will acknowledge the courage of those who built the Belfast (Good Friday) Agreement. We pay tribute to the architects of peace. We remember those no longer with us. We pledge to build a better future for people across Northern Ireland.

We joke about not being able to do maths, but we’d never make a joke about not being able to read. Our plans today bring us one step closer to changing our anti-maths mindset and ensuring every young person has the skills needed for a successful future.
Maths to 18. Transforming our national approach to maths. New advisory group of education experts. More maths hubs to support teaching. New professional qualification for maths leaders in primary schools.

Cases waiting to be heard in the Crown Court have fallen by over 1,200 since the barristers’ strikes ended in October. Recruiting more judges, and keeping Nightingale Courts open to increase capacity, is helping speed up the system so victims get the justice they deserve quicker.

It is right that offenders up and down the country who have damaged their communities are made to pay back through work. If you are a business or charity that could benefit from community payback hours you can nominate a project in your local area here.

"We've employed 9 people so far because we’ve seen skills in them.” Since 2012, @emidexecteam community payback teams have worked at Rhubarb Farm to transform the overgrown site into a place that's open for the local community to visit and enjoy. Take a look 📹

Spineless criminals like Cashman who hide from their sentencing prolong the suffering of victims and their families. As I have already made clear, I plan to change the law to compel offenders to face up to their actions, so victims can see the justice they deserve being served.

Saddened to learn of the passing of Nigel Lawson. He was a giant who changed the political weather, a lodestar for Conservatives, and a kind man always generous with his wisdom. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Today’s figures show there’s underlying resilience in the UK economy. However, families are still facing real pressure. We have stepped up with immediate relief worth an average of £3,300 per household, including paying half of people's energy bills - funded by windfall taxes.

Today’s figures show that the Crown Court backlog is coming down and more rape cases are reaching court. There is much further to go, but our actions to increase court capacity and improve the system are working to deliver the swift justice victims deserve.

I’m taking action to stop the most serious offenders from being able to marry in custody. Our Bill will stop anyone serving a whole-life sentence from marrying, to protect vulnerable women and maintain confidence in the justice system.

We will repair the damage to confidence in the parole process after decisions to release criminals like John Worboys and Colin Pitchfork. The Bill will ensure the worst criminals stay locked up for as long as necessary to protect the public.
