I think part of the concern here is that by joining Google, a company that makes profit from monetising people’s data, your best intentions won’t matter because you won’t be in control anymore. Also, it shouldn’t be just up to NHS trusts. It should be entirely up to patients.

That must be a tough week. Lots of empathy and kudos for trying to calm the waves. At the end of the day, it doesn't look like a good move though by whoever decided this. Also, abolishing the independent review board... Is this supposed to be like taking off a bandaid?
Silly me. There I was thinking the patient data belonged to the patient.
Even simpler question what level of patient consultation took place about their data before this transition. Or does Google do that thinking for them as well?
