Just spoke at City Council in favor of the city using the $300K it has set aside for a wheelchair accessible taxi service to start it ASAP. This has been in progress for 10 years, & I’m glad to have recently started work on it through the disabilities commission. People need it.
As a disabled guy with MS since 1999 (total since 2013) I've had to rely on public transportation and have witnessed people worse off than me argue with metro drivers about inaccessibility problems. Seats that don't fit, buses with no lifts, no room. ADA taxis are critical!
