One night, when I was drunk, I went to a tatoo shop & asked 4 the Japanese kanji 4 dragon. I said NOT the CHINESE kanji, the JAPANESE. Instead of 龍, which i believe is Japanese/Chinese, I ended up with the Chinese simplified 龙. I don't even know if Japanese people recognize it.

I tested to a small group of Japanese at an event I attended through MeetUp app. Japanese DON'T recognize Simplified Chinese. 东京,龙,练习 (Simplified Chinese
)
東京,龍,練習 (Traditional Chinese
)
These words mean:
Tokyo, Dragon, Practice exercises (in school). - 1 more reply

I find that hard to believe, you’re just covering up that you’re not actually 日本語上手!
