Interesting. I'd read the best way to learn Kanji was to focus on learning them in a mnemonic way, excluding the onyomi and kunyomi pronunciations. Thank you for the added input!

Totally agree. I did it via Heisig (shape and meaning first) and then had to relearn it when I started reading novels and needed the sounds. Also recommend learning in school order (most common Kanji first).

I've been using kanji study to go in grade order. Seems I need to put a pin in it and break out the phonetics if I want to get the pitch, etc right.
