This is the most disturbing thing I've read this week. Japanese politicians say that? I really hope not. Globalism destroys local culture. Keep Japan Japanese! Cultural distinction should be preserved!

Cultures are not unchanging steel boxes. They've always influenced one another in the course of history, and it will keep happening in the future too. The thought of uniqueness and protection of cultures is what justified nationalism and colonialism in early XX century in Japan
