It's funny how we learn how to ignore correct pronunciation in Japanese because we read that we shouldn't care much about that in our elementary Japanese textbooks, while that is not true for other languages (see Korean or even English!)... I wonder why they do that to us
This is because there are no comprehensive, easy to use phonetic resources for elementary and intermediate Japanese learners; I try to teach Japanese pronunciation in detail on my Patreon to address this issue. Cheers!
