To be honest I’m more amazed that the wife stayed in the hospital for a week.
Hospitals in Canada are free, but when you have a baby they kick you out of the hospital the same or next day.

I just had a baby in Oregon and I’m jealous of this. Good thing I have double coverage. Can you talk about maternity leave in Japan? Is there a paternity leave as well?

Perhaps in a future vid!

Same in Sweden. Giving birth is not considered to be a sickness. Horrible way to treat a woman who has carried a full gestation period.

No joke, in America they charge a 45 dollar baby handling fee on top of the crazy expensive stuff piled on it. Glad to be living in Japan. Lmao

That's still a lot for a baby. Babies don't have jobs. Here in Germany, most of my family members get 10€ for each day in hospital, due to their insurance contract. I would have to pay 10€ for each day to a cap of 100€ max.

The video is saying you RECEIVE $1,500/baby from insurance.
