Being non-american and actually having trains where I come from, I gotta say the announcements in Japan are much better than in Germany and dangit I'm a native there. It also helps that people are usually quiet on the trains Also it's actually audible on the tracks, not just echo

Then again whereever there's non-recorded announcements I wouldn't say I could write it out. In Ibaraki I frantically looked for the huge signboards telling me where the heck I am.
