Not so fun fact: Next summer, if all goes according to plans, Germany is going to open yet another 1.1GW coal plant #Datteln4

Rather ironic that this plant alone will release yearly an amount of radioactive waste almost three times the Chernobyl accident

Most importantly the nuclear ‘waste’ is fully contained, whereas the coal derived radioactivity is dispersed in the biosphere!

This is a good message, but they lose points with the 1000 MWh coal plant. I'm pretty sure they mean 1000 MW. Also, its a little deceiving because tonnes of material are not the same as Curies or Becquerels or Sieverts.

This is great, but it would be even more useful if the massive creation of radioactive waste from coal mining leftovers could be captured!

Pity about the error (mWh) on the info-graphic-- one needs to be precise to have authority.

Most people don't even know that their countertops of granite or some other natural stone, emit certain types of radiation on their own. A small safe amount, but it does. This also include siding on a building. My point is that it's all around us and most people don't even know.
