it’s a fair statement @DoctorKarl, with gov’t killing RE investment in 2013/14, slashing RET in 2015, ruling out EIS in 2016, killing CET in 2017, abandoning NEG in 2018 and ignoring emerging challenges in 2019.
…but all credit to the states, households, & persistent industry.

75% of your electricity power bill is derived from fees and charges. Some of them are duplicated. As soon as you said “grid” you already mentioned the elephant in the room. Power prices are mostly service fees.

I have solar on my roof and received new price tariff for my house. $1.45per day connection fee. .57cents per kilowatt peak use. This is Victoria, scum of the earth private enterprise control prices. Govt incentives gobbled up

The SA Liberal Government wants to build a Solar Wind interconnector with NSW but the Fed Gov won't support it! Go Figure! SA already has a power interconnector with Vic!

There ya go with that sciencey facty stuff again, the work you make for us dodgy pollies is huge. Do you know how hard it is to lie in the face of facts? Or how much it costs our mate Rupert to stooge the masses?
-
My observation is politicians seems to have no problems lying in the face of facts; they seem to do it regularly: faces sometimes filled with righteous indignation and often trumpeting their own Orwellian statistics.

We’re hitting capacity due to the antiquated grid. We’ve privatised it and sold to Asian interests. They’ve been making all the money from our power, time to make them spend the money and upgrade it to allow renewable assets cheaper to build and get online
-
We are not hitting the capacity of the grid. They'd like you to believe that, though. About the only 'upgrade' needed is generators getting data (via internet) from rooftop solar to tell them what they are exporting so they can throttle down. No grid changes needed.
