Dr. Waitman Beorn-Now with all shots! Retweeted Stefan Tompson

This is not what's happening. This is not what she did. Moreover, she clearly differentiated b/w concentration camps and extermination centers. (no such thing as a death camp. That's not a useful term.)https://twitter.com/StefanTompson/status/1142543121814818817 …

Please just stop. Stop insulting the memory of millions who suffered and died in German death camps. Stop diminishing the suffering of those who paid the ultimate price in the Holocaust. Stop cheapening the meaning of words - you may need them yet. https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1142484976681836546 …

Please look at the video of the liberation of Bergen-Belsen which was a conc camp not an extermination camp. Please tell me how this was not a DEATH camp. Why don't these people stop. Just top.

Steven, I'm saying Bergen-Belsen was not a death camp. Doesn't mean thousands didn't die there. It was a concentration camp. We distinguish b/w concentration camps and extermination camps. One does not take away from the other. They are just different.

Well I say it was a death camp. It was not an extermination camp with gas chambers but what % of prisoners died there? How is that not a death camp. Why are we playing semantics? What's happening at the border is horrible and should stop but so should these vile comparisons.

So you are saying that Dachau wasn't a concentration camp when it opened? Thats what they called it. Thats when people prayed "oh lord, strike me dumb, so i don't to Dachau come". It didnt suddenly become a concentration camp, or unacceptable, late in the war. It always was

Late in the war the Nazis knew they were losing, and they were determined these 'undesirables' would not become released. At that point exterminating them all became a priority. Before that it was just collateral damage from the policy

Oh and from someone whose grandfather was at Dachau. Stop. Please. Just stop. You are effectively arguing over what year the Nazis became not ok. They were always not ok.
