Why 7? Why not 6, or 8? That's exactly how long Benioff was "in the wilderness" as it were, post-college, being a failed writer bouncing around from LA to Montana, before he finally succeeded with 25th Hour. A bit on-the-nose. Possibly coincidence - I don't know drug sentence

Oh, that's the story of how "The 25th Hour" was written. While he was in the hospital for weeks recovering from that *avoidable sepsis from appendicitis*, he dropped 40 pounds of weight he never gained back, was recovering for months, and thought "wow, it's like being in prison"
